Week 3 - Day 6
(18) For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.
Reading: Today, let’s focus and mediate on this part of the verse: “For Christ also suffered for sins once and for all, for the righteous and unrighteous, that he might bring you to God.”
We hear this so much that we lose the significance and the weight of it. We were destined to hell because of our sin, and Christ came down from heaven and suffered so we could one day live in glory with the Father forever.
Oh, what a savior we have in Jesus!
When our struggles seem too great, we need to look at what Jesus did for us. We hope that you will spend some time today thinking of the suffering that Jesus endured for your salvation. Listen to the words of today’s songs and praise him.
Reflection: Where are you in your relationship with the Lord today? Growing? Stagnant? Refreshed? Questioning?
Where do you want to be in your relationship with the Lord?
Prayer Prompt: Dear Lord, thank you for suffering for me. It is hard to imagine that the fuel for you to endure my sins was your desire to be obedient to the Father. Please let me use what you did for me to strengthen my obedience to you.
