Hey guys, it’s Carter, the Director of FC Resources here! With that last devo, I’ll be try to be short!
I hope that you’ve enjoyed this devotional series, had some laughs, but also had some take-aways in the process. I’m here to tell you today that it’s okay to let loose a bit! Maybe for you – a lot a bit! That’s what this series is about. God isn’t so serious all the time.
The thing about the Full Count community is that we have our thoughtful, somber moments, sure, but I’ve learned by watching the guys in the ministry the power of laughter in community. I can probably be the most serious person to be around sometimes. I live in my head a lot! And maybe you’re that way. God is reassuring me each day that it’s okay to have fun with him.
Baseball was always meant to be fun. Yeah, baseball, I think, was always meant for community and to just have fun together. We are blessed to have guys with great attitudes and a great sense of humor, even though we do have our bad days too. We are human, fall short, and have our complaining moments. As a community, we are called to have grace upon grace for each other when others have their bad days. We need each other!
The joy of the Lord is very contagious. As best we can, let’s have a happy heart in God – because we never know who could need it. And why not be happy most days? God did the work of giving us salvation through Jesus! That’s something to be happy about! We don’t have to prove anything – and we can’t!
God is so good, right?
We hope you plug in more into the relationships inside Full Count, seek the Lord with us, serve with us, and laugh with us too as we share about our Lord and his goodness to us.
God bless!
-Carter Reese, Director of FC Resources
