The Dugout Club.png
Introduction.png

If you haven’t laughed on the ball field, you haven’t been around baseball a very long time. I can remember from middle school, my head coach was throwing imaginary grenades from the third base coach’s box to explode our first base coach before he shot his rocket launcher back at him. I had a teammate one time shave his chest hair in an exclamation point and show it to the catcher after shuffling to his lead at second base. One time, I laughed the whole game. A teammate in high school machine-gunned down passerby birds with his bat from the dugout with the most serious face. The dugout was made to not be so serious. It’s where you can cheer on the team but also have some fun too.

You probably have your own stories around the game. Baseball players are downright weird and hilarious. You’ll see that in the pictures throughout the study (taken on our mission trips).

Did you know that God has a sense of humor too? Behind the series of solemn psalms and stories, God laughs with us. He uses funny things to drive home points of truth. We hope this lighthearted series will help you see God as the King of Comedy, chuckling with us.

I think he greatly approves of the Big League Chew bubble on the top of the ball cap.

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Enjoy!
