What is a PLUS+ Group?
D-Group PLUS+ builds on the same foundation as a traditional D-Group, but adds monthly assignments and book readings designed to stretch your faith, strengthen your leadership, and help you take intentional steps to leverage your influence for greater impact in God’s Kingdom.
What Do PLUS+ Groups do?
Closed Groups: These groups are closed groups, meaning that everyone gets in before the group launches, and no one gets added after you begin. PLUS+ groups operate most effectively when everyone is committed in this way.
Bible Reading Tract: PLUS+ Groups follow the same Bible reading tract as a traditional D-Group. Five readings per week, while completing at least two application journal entries.
Application Journals: PLUS+ Groups leverage application journals during their meetings together (shorter weekly meetings or longer monthly meetings). Members should complete two journals per week and are encouraged to provide a journal summary every month to highlight different themes in what God has been revealing.
Scripture Memory: There is one scripture memory verse per week that is expected to be recited whenever the group comes together. They are cumulative, meaning once you learn them, you should also work on retaining them.
Monthly Assignments: PLUS+ Groups are made distinct through the different Monthly Assignments that are offered. (See Below)
Book Reading: Each Monthly Assignment is accompanied by a book reading over that particular theme to deepen your insight into that topic.
Intentional Accountability: PLUS+ Groups are made possible and effective through intentional accountability amongst members in the group. These groups must be comfortable with accountability.
What is a monthly assignment like?
Each month, your PLUS+ Group will take part in a themed assignment. This assignment is designed to challenge you to apply your faith across a variety of practical applications. Some of these assignments include:
Sharing Your Story
Prayer
Marriage
Biblical Manhood
Spiritual Disciplines
Each assignment has a certain task associated with it. For example, the marriage assignment includes planning an intentional date night with your spouse centered around identifying areas of strength/needing growth.
Additionally, each assignment has a book assigned to read over that month. This book will provide additional context and insight to better reveal God’s intention in this specific area.
Each month requires a different amount of time and intentionality, but all have proven time and time again to be fruitful if you commit yourself to it.
“Taking part in a PLUS+ Group has allowed God to open my eyes to see just how practical my faith really should be.”
