What Is Advent?

Advent observance is the period before Christmas that is a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the Christmas holiday. In our culture today, it’s so easy to get caught up in the things surrounding the true reason that we celebrate, and that’s why we want to help you keep your eyes on Jesus in this season. 

The Jesus Our Redeemer Advent Reading Plan spans from December 1 to December 25. We step through a brief history of man in the Old Testament scriptures, while highlighting man’s shortcomings leading up to the birth of Jesus. In the New Testament, we see proof and assurance of redemption. The Psalms sing man’s emotional response to God in light of our present world and needs. Christ Jesus, our King, overcame this world for us and redeems us from every fault. It is a true gift of God that he saves us from all our sins.
