Introduction
In the spring of 2020, Full Count Ministries launched the Luke Journal. Through that study, and reflecting on the course of Full Count, I was excited to put together a study diving into the nature of the cross.
The cross is the most profound moment in history. The life of Jesus is marked with sacrifice. He stopped on long journeys to speak life into the downcast. He touched leperous men and healed them. He took on hard-headed disciples. He was fully submisive to the Father. And then he went to die.
Jesus gave up his life on a wooden cross roughly 2,000 years ago. His life lives on forever through the work of the Church today. We are not only reminded about what he did -- but we are called to the same heart and mind under his lordship as he builds the church. We are called to carry that cross up the hill to die on too. No, it’s not a hill called Golgotha, but it’s a hill that God may have called you up to in these modern times.
Will you go?
I think today, he is calling you.
