Michael Johnstone
Michael Johnstone has been involved in European Baseball since 2011 when he joined the Vienna Metrostars while teaching at the International Christian School of Vienna. Michael was born in Venezuela to a missionary family and raised in Southern California. Michael started coaching early on and fell in love with the opportunity to disciple baseball players and coaches as they proceed through their own careers. He has coached at all levels of the game, from the youngest beginners to adults; having coached for a couple high school programs, at the collegiate level in the NAIA, and most recently in the Austrian Bundesliga with the Vienna Metrostars. In 2014 he founded an initiative to introduce the game in the country of Kosova and continues to serve in the Federation he helped start as development coordinator. He has coached players at camps in several European countries and currently spends most of his time mentoring and training coaches in countries where the game is in its early stages of growth in addition to his assistant coach role with the Metrostars.
Coach Johnstone lives in Vienna, Austria with his wife Rebecca of 24 years and is father to two children, Justin (25) and Kailyn (13).
